Shall I Tell You Why?

Paul Adams   Stand Up Comedian

Paul Adams has spent over thirty years doing what he does best – making complete strangers laugh out loud. A seasoned comic with sharp timing and a natural ease on stage, Paul has worked with legends, stars, up-and-comers and a fair few who were not even close.

His journey began as a Pontin’s Bluecoat, where he cut his teeth keeping holiday crowds entertained. His first professional stand-up contract soon followed on the island of Jersey and from there he quickly earned a reputation as a reliable opening act, so much so that for over a decade he became the go-to warm-up for major promoters. That included no less than nine shows at the Royal Albert Hall, opening for icons like Stevie Wonder, George Benson, and most recently, Smokey Robinson.

Paul didn’t stay in the warm-up spot for long. For the past 20 years he’s been headlining in his own right both on land and sea. His variety roots and sharp, observational humour saw him land two years on the Capital Gold Breakfast Show alongside Bradley Walsh, and he later toured the UK with Make 'Em Laugh – a show he co-wrote with his father, the late Charlie Adams, which starred the great Frank Carson.

These days Paul continues to travel the world, entertaining international audiences aboard cruise ships with his trademark charm and quick wit. When he’s not on stage you’ll probably find him enjoying a good book with a coffee or scribbling away at what he calls That Bloody Book about his dad.

A proud Water Rat, Paul Adams is a true entertainer – reliable, warm, sharp as ever, and still making ‘em laugh.

“When it comes to comedy, Paul is a safe pair of hands!”
